It didn't take very long for the Cash for Clunkers bill to make it to the President's desk. After the Senate passed its own version last week, the President signed the bill on Thursday, June 25 to officially enact the Car Allowance Rebate System.

Don't expect to see the rebate system in place just yet. There is a 30 day grace period for the government to iron out some of the details and then dealerships will be notified when they can start applying to participate in the program.
