Floral Industry Legislative Issues - Health Care Reform
Last week two freshman legislators - Democrat, Glen Nye, (D-2-VA) and Adam Schock (R-18-IL) jointly signed a letter to Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-8-Calif) and Minority Leader John Boehner (R-8-OH) imploring them to protect small businesses in the health care reform bill, specifically calling on them to address the costs of health care coverage for small employers.

The Nye/Schock letter goes on to emphasize that reforming health care should support not impede the recovery for small businesses that employ 58 percent of the private workforce. Schock and Nye caution against burdening small businesses with crippling expenses in the name of reform. To read the letter in full, go here.
