Grassroot Efforts - SAF Members in Action

Just last week, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal signed a bill into law that would end the decades old law of making retail florists pass an exam to legally design and sell flowers in the state. Florists around the state were up in arms about the historical certification process and had filed suit against the constituionality of the law.

HB 1407 abolishes the presentation section of the exam which was the point of contention for most florists in Louisiana. You can read more on the happenings here.

Currently no other state requires florists to pass a written and practical exam to be licenced florist.
