The plant segment of the floral industry is usually divided into Potted Houseplants (Flowering and Green) and Bedding/Garden Plants. Domestic cut flower production currently focuses on miscellaneous flowers. Upwards of 85% and as high as 98% of the most common fresh cut flowers: roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, etc., are imported, mostly from South America.
